Working in higher ed is a sacred calling. After all, our society, our communities, our world depend on what we learn together — as scholars, students, and leaders.
But higher ed is not always a happy place. Sometimes that makes sense. We’ll disagree about ideas. We’ll have different thoughts and passions and values. And we’ll care deeply.
But that doesn’t mean higher ed needs to be an un-happy place. Learning to share our ideas with clarity. Learning to listen deeply. All of these are strategies we can use to truly create collegial communities of learning.
